Weekend Get Away

Last weekend a few girlfriends and I headed up to Fort Bragg for a bachelorette party. I hadn’t been to the area since a family vacation when I was younger. Not knowing what to expect, I was excited to be by the ocean. “the sea will set you free”

Of course the first thing I do when we wake up Saturday morning for our hike, is grab my camera. Only to find that its completely out of juice and my charger was no where to be found. Thankfully iPhone camera’s have come a long way and I still managed to get some pretty great shots.

We drove a few miles down the highway to MacKerricher State Park for a hike, or so we thought. We ended up following a short (but beautiful) muddy trail only to find ourselves right back on a paved road. The whole weekend had a “go with the flow” vibe so we did just that and kept walking. The path was full of beautiful sites that my inner ‘wanna-be photographer’ could not get enough of.

We ended up on a pebble beach writing our names in the “sand”, attempting cart-wheels and playing tag with the tide. Something about being on a beach brings out the child in me.

Enjoy some pictures from the trip below!
